What costs do you have to expect for a hair transplant?
The cost of hair transplantation depends not only on the technique used, but also on the extent of the treatment. Therefore, we can only tell you the exact costs of your treatment after an initial consultation.
Our hair transplantation methods
There are two different methods for hair transplantation:
- FUT technique
- FUE technique
In the FUT technique, also known as the strip method, strips of skin with hair are removed from the back of the head. The removed hairs are carefully prepared under the microscope and divided into bundles, so-called follicular units. These bundles are implanted in the desired location.
With the FUE technique, no incision is necessary. The follicular units are taken from the surface of the skin on the back of the neck. Each unit must contain one to four hair roots. The hair is stored in a specific nutrient medium until it is transplanted.

Important questions about hair transplantation
What do you have to consider before and after the hair transplant?
Before the hair transplant you should avoid alcohol and limit smoking as much as possible. Aspirin or other blood-thinning medication should not be taken for about 10 days. If you regularly take medication, please inform us in advance. Hair loss medications should also be discontinued in the week prior to treatment.
After the hair transplant, you should not wash your hair for about three days. You should also avoid sport or other physical exertion and sweating within the first few days. Due to the risk of pigment disorders, direct sunlight on the head should be avoided for about 3 months.
How long does the result of a hair transplant last?
The result of hair transplantation is permanent. The inserted hair roots grow back after a certain period of time and a renewed hair loss in the treatment area is usually not to be expected.
How long should I not do any sport after the hair transplant?
You should completely refrain from sport for about 5 days after a hair transplant. Then you can start with sports such as jogging. You should only resume particularly strenuous sporting activities after 14 days.
How long should I take a holiday after the hair transplant?
In principle, you will be socially fit again the day after a hair transplant. However, it makes sense to take it easy for a few days. Therefore, many of our patients take a week off after the hair transplantation.
Where is the hair taken from for the hair transplant?
The hair must be taken from the areas that are not affected by hair loss. Usually the roots are taken from the back of the head or the ears.
What are the risks of a hair transplant?
As with any procedure, there are risks associated with hair transplantation. For example, there can be a problematic wound healing, i.e. the wounds become inflamed. In addition, there can be intensive scarring.
